The route is nestled between two national forests and adjacent to a designated wilderness area. This unique geological wonderland features rugged, crimson high desert rock faces and spectacular panoramic views. Expert narration and guides leave passengers with a sense of history, archaeology, geology, wildlife, and the Indian lore of the Verde Canyon.

From the moment you step aboard the fully-restored vintage train, you are whisked back to a time of luxurious and leisurely train travel. FP7 locomotives, two of only 12 remaining in North America, are the muscle that pulls the renovated consortium of cars. Indoor cars are climate-controlled, have restrooms which may be utilized throughout the trip, and the train meets ADA requirements.

All coaches on the Verde Canyon Railroad are designed expressly for passenger comfort. Adjoining outdoor viewing platforms with shaded canopies liberate you with the sounds and sights of the high desert that characterize the Canyon. Access to open-air cars and narration are elite amenities, making our train experience unlike any other.

Two types of accommodations make up the Verde Canyon Railroad – First-Class and Coach-Class. 

First Class offers spacious living-room style seating with panoramic viewing windows.  Other First Class amenities include a champagne toast upon arrival, full cash bar with an attendent serving each guest at their seat, a variety of complimentary appetizers.



DURATION – 4 hour train ride
