Grand Canyon Private Advanced Day Hiking Tour

Visit one of Grand Canyon’s mile long mesa surrounded by towering temples and buttes.  Explore turn of the century copper mining operations where the rails and mining equipment still litter the landscape.  You will then descend into surreal limestone caverns with giant stalactites, stalagmites and other colorful cave formations.  You won’t believe you’re really in the Grand Canyon! 

The trip includes a very small tailored group (normally 7 or less people) and includes a back pack, picnic lunch, water and hiking poles.      

• 9 miles round-trip (2700 feet vertical)
• You are picked up directly at your hotel.  The exact pick up time at your hotel in Flagstaff, Williams, or Grand Canyon South Rim hotels (including Tusayan) will be confirmed at the time of booking.  Approx. 8:00am-10:30am depending on time of year.

• You should be back to your hotel between 4:00pm-6:00pm depending how quickly you are able to hike out of the canyon.
• Approx time from pick up and return to your hotel is 7-8 hours
• Exact pickup time at your hotel will be emailed to you with your confirmation details

  Please note: This hiking excursion is NOT advisable for people with an extreme fear of heights.  Excellent health and fitness level is also HIGHLY recommended.
  

This advanced includes the following:

• Comfortable transportation to and from your hotel in Flagstaff, Wiliams, or the Grand Canyon South Rim (Tusayan included).
• Small personalized groups (limited to 7 participants). Larger groups can be arranged on a custom basis
• Gourmet picnic lunch on the trail.
• All entry fees and back-country permits.
• All necessary gear including backpacks, water bottles, rain ponchos (if necessary), and hiking poles
• A knowledgeable Grand Canyon registered guide in wilderness medicine protocols

Please note: hiking in the Grand Canyon is not recommended for persons with an intense fear of heights!

There is a 72 hour cancellation policy on this booking. You can cancel prior to 3 days in advance of the booking and receive a refund minus a 5% processing fee. If you cancel within 3 days of activity you will forfeit the full amount paid.

Due to the unforeseen nature of adventure travel, we highly recommend purchasing a separate trip insurance policy. A policy will refund your costs if you need to cancel the trip for medical emergencies, family illness/death, work related cancellation or trip interruption. The policy also has great features such as medical evacuation and other medical related benefits NOT covered by most individual health plans. We can assist in obtaining travel insurance.
